In Praise of Theological Libraries

The library is the teacher of what history has thought and how that thought stretches through the present into the future. Theological libraries are a testament that what we know now is not all that should be known; that in theological studies, the newest idea may not be the best idea….Available space on the shelves reminds us that good scholarship always has more to work to do, that new eras require new information, and that old ideas can lead to new forms of wisdom.
